Methodology: An exhaustive search of scientific articles found in different search engines such as: Pubmed was carried out. Science Direct, Proquest, Scielo, American Academy Of Ophthalmology, etc, with a publication date of less than 10 years, in English and Spanish. Results: Visual and ocular alterations were found, both in the anterior and posterior segments in children and young people with type I diabetes mellitus; being more prevalent the decrease in vascular density in the superficial and deep capillary plexus of the retina corresponding to 10%, in the same way it was found that the structure that is most affected in the anterior segment is the lens with a percentage of 20% and 15% of refractive errors pertaining to visual function. Conclusions: Taking into account the progressive prevalence of DM1, the approach and intervention of new research is necessary to improve the prognosis of visual and ocular health in this age group.Item Revisión Bibliográfica: Determinar los factores biomecánicos de la córnea relacionados con la aparición del Queratocono(Universidad Antonio Nariño) JIMENEZ RAMIREZ, JOSE FERNANDO; Reyes Clavijo, Ligia SorayaMany studies have been done on keratoconus, however, the vast majority of these have been based on side effects in cornea, which makes it almost impossible to determine the cause of keratoconus. This review collects information on research conducted with state-of-the-art equipment, which has made it possible to reference new factors of corneal biomechanics, which previously could not be measured in vivo, because they have adequate equipment, and that determine that the originating factor of the Keratoconus is due in part to loss of stability of the components of corneal biomechanics.Item Hallazgos oculares en segmento anterior encontrados en trabajadores agrícolas en la región de Antioquia expuestos al uso del glifosato(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Martínez Palacios, Gina Liseth; Murillo Maturana, Heiny Johana; Guzmán Cano, Juan David; Aya Cholo, David Sneider; Galeano Castañeda, Yadira BernardaAgricultural chemicals are chemical compounds that refer to chemical substances or mixtures used to control responsible agricultural pests multiple crop damageItem Actualización del tratamiento dicóptico para el paciente ambliope(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Gómez Sánchez, Nora Eugenia; Torres Garzón, Leidy Yulieth; Velásquez Puerta, Lisbeth Daniela; Gutiérrez Rodríguez, Jeimy Natali; Pérez Hernández, Jorge Alberto; Galeano Castañeda, Yadira BernardaIn this research work, emphasis is placed on describing and highlighting the latest techniques available for dichoptic treatment to treat amblyopia through the use of different devices.Item Efectos clínicos en algunas funciones visuales y en el segmento anterior del globo ocular en consumidores de cannabis(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Holguín González, Angie Daniela; Torres Zapata, Mariana; Marín Aristizabal, Michael Andrés; Aya Cholo, David Sneider; Pérez Hernández, Jorge AlbertoCurrently there are various psychoactive substances that generate effects physiological side effects in our body, different effects can be generated ophthalmic levelItem Revisión bibliográfica entre HS al 0,10 y carboxi al 0,5 en la reparación de la superficie ocular(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Matallana Castellanos, Oscar Javier Matallana Castellanos; Cortes Rodríguez, Diana Catalina; Figueroa Olarte, Luisa F.; Vásquez Melo, Eliana C.The ocular surface belongs to a delicate portion of the anatomy of the eyeball whose structures have a close relationship with each other to achieve obtain a good homeostasis of the anatomical-functional unit (1). The changes in the ocular surface are associated with inflammatory pathologies at the corneal level, conjunctival, and to some deformations in the corneal structure or alterations of the tear film (2). Objective: To compare the therapeutic action of Hyaluronate of Sodium (HS) and Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), in the repair of the ocular surface of patients with mild or moderate dry eye. Methods: Literature review in databases such as PubMed/MEDLINE, SCOPUS, Clinical trials, Virtual Library in health, SCIELO, Elservier, between the years 2005 and 2020. Although several clinical cases of patients have been described over the years, the etiology of denial is still not clear, the damage has only been recognized in areas of association. The most common lesion associated with the syndrome is ischemia in the cerebral territory, specifically in the posterior cerebral arteries, although it should be taken into account that it has also occurred during some procedures or in the course of some pathologies. When the eye care professions make an exhaustive review, the absence of pathologies in the eyeball is evidenced that can explain the low visual perception of patients, for them it is important that they learn to identify the characteristic signs that may lead them to suspect the present syndrome during consultations.
