Abstract
Cristhian Hotel is a company that provides accommodation and lodging services, whose activities generate a series of waste products whose classification is different depending on their particular characteristics. Specifically, it will cover the existence and implementation of the environmental approach that the organization has.
This project seeks to make a documentary proposal for the design of the environmental area, analyzing the strengths that already exist as well as encourage the changes necessary to make it sustainable and thus generate a positive impact on the environment.
Part of the methodology consisted in making a diagnosis of the Cristhian Hotel, detecting the existing shortcomings in order to take corrective and improvement actions. Likewise, it also seeks to raise awareness among the staff of the facilities about the importance of the environmental area in the facilities. This also implies the handling and diligence of formats to keep an order and amount of waste generated.
In accordance with the above, this was carried out under the Sectorial Technical Standard for Sustainable Tourism 002 (NTS-TS 002), focused on number three (3) that refers to "Management for sustainability" and four (4) "Environmental requirements", which has as its main objective: "The EAH must design, implement, maintain, evaluate and improve management for sustainability, with records or evidence to demonstrate compliance with the following requirements (EAH)" (NTS-TS, 2014, P. 12). This standard is mandatory for Lodging and Hosting Establishments (HHEs) whose standard is also framed in the Sustainable Development Objectives (SDOs). In this way, it is of total obligation and responsibility of all the establishments of its fulfillment, mainly to guarantee standards of quality, competitiveness, sustainability and development.
