Abstract
This research work analyzes the social imaginaries about forms of political participation in young students of the secondary education level of two official schools in Colombia, one urban and the other rural. The analysis of such imaginaries was carried out through a qualitative methodology, which through the collection of information from a primary source, made it possible to understand the imaginations of the young students participating in this study; They start from a diversity that leads them to understand the different forms of political participation, as significant and highly relevant means to be part and contribute in society, from the different spaces that it offers, such as the community, democracy, education, and among many others; not limiting itself only to formal forms of participation, but also conceiving other ways that can range from the everyday and informal
