Abstract
This research project describes the development of an electro-pneumatic didactic bench for the automation of two sequential perimeter transport processes in modular production systems (MPS); as a response to the problem raised about the lack of didactic tools to incorporate areas such as mechanics, electronics and electro-pneumatics into a single unit for the simulation of an industrial-type process. The didactic bank has dimensions of 44.7 cm high * 120 cm long * 77 cm wide. This aims from interdisciplinary of areas, to strengthen skills such as perception, language and memory, which helps users in solving industrial problems, especially those that use MPS. For the above, a manipulation and distribution process is recreated through a jib crane- type structure that seeks to transport a circular geometry product perimeter through a certain space, using electro-pneumatic elements such as suction cups, vacuum pumps, rotary pneumatic and linear actuators, solenoid valves (24VDC) and flow regulating valves. Furthermore, a shaft, a helical tooth mechanical transmission, links the rotary actuator in order to extend the working range of the driven mechanism. Likewise, a cam mechanism was used with a position switch that acts as a follower, which synchronizes the process and allows on / off control by means of the 230RC and Arduino PLC logo controllers, thus giving a mechanical solution to a system. electronic. IR sensors are used to optimize the process, which provide feedback to the system and give the mechanism autonomy. The nominal pressure of the bank is 4bar. Finally, there is a small description about the digital manufacturing process that was executed to fulfill the general objective of this project.
