Abstract
From the pedagogical practice I and II it is possible to evidence a problem in front of the compression of the geographical space and the appropriation of the same one, because, it is not understood that that space day after day is crossed, is felt and is lived. It frames different situations that are determining factors in the development of our daily lif. a situacion that leads us to think about how little human being in space is aware of the space he or she lives in every day and in wich all aspects of daily life are developed and that allows them to underttand the problems that emerge locally, nationally and internationally In this sense, the question emerge about how to enable spaces in the school that lead students to a greater appropriation of their space and therefore to the analysis of the situations presented there. It is understood that as social science teachers it is necessary to rescue the importance of knowing the space that is inhabited, because the knowledge, understanding and interpretation of this will allow a better development in society and to establish a link between physical and social aspects that are in that space. From this, a didactic unit is designed under the name of "recognizing the geographical space: orientation, ubication, location.
