Abstract
The present research aims at understanding the meaning of the experience of being a victim of Grooming, in relation to coping strategies. Grooming is sexual harassment on the Internet. This research has 4 participants, from the city of Bogotá who were victims of Grooming. To understand the experience of this reality, designated categories were focused on the understanding of the experience, such as: Motivation to use information and communication technologies, harassment phases, characteristics of the victim and the victimizer, coping strategies, the methodology used for this research a qualitative approach, descriptive in scope, an interview used in-depth for data collection. The results show coping strategies directed at the emotions and the problem. Some of these are: detachment, escape, confrontation, and the use of resources as a coping tool such as family, beliefs, religion. Positive effects of harassment are evidenced as: the affective approach of a father and his daughter. Some negative effects such as alcohol consumption, family problems, loss of ones’ school year among others.
