Item Determinación de la Correlación entre la Actividad Física y la Condición Física con el Rendimiento Académico en Estudiantes de 8° Grado de la Institución Educativa Serrezuela de Madrid, Cundinamarca.(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Suarez Cano, Leonardo Fabio; Bernal Ballén, AndrésThe relationship between physical activity, physical condition and academic performance has been internationally studied. However, reports of this relationship are limited, and its incidence is still controversial. For that reason, this research determined the correlation between these three variables using the PAQ-A questionnaire to determine physical activity, the six Eurofitnes battery test for physical condition, and the academic results for academic performance in mathematics, Spanish, social sciences and natural sciences. The results indicate that men perform better in their physical activity, which is an indicative for a better physical condition. However, this performance does not indicate positive academic results. On the contrary, although women have better academic results, their activity and physical condition are not optimal. In this matter, mathematics and natural sciences shown better relationship with the studied variables. In addition, it is necessary to isolate each of the carried out tests and determine their incidence in relation to the other variables. Finally, these results are promising, since they can be considered as the starting point to continue with the multivariate analysis between physical activity, physical condition and academic performance.Item Estrategia didáctica para mejorar las habilidades de escucha en estudiantes de inglés como lengua extranjera en la escuela de idiomas y dialectos del ejército (ESIDE)(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Leguizamón del Portillo, Juliana; Bernal Ballén, AndrésLearning English as a foreign language brings with it challenges such as acquiring a language system that allows for effective communication. In this sense, the phonetic differences between Spanish and English is one of the causes that makes it difficult to develop listening skills. Thus, in the present investigation a didactic strategy was designed to improve this ability in students of the School of Languages and Dialects of the Colombian Army (ESIDE). The sample was selected at convenience and consisted of fifteen students from the intermediate course. The strategy was divided into three parts. A diagnostic test to evidence the level of listening; the learning activities; and an exit test. The research is qualitative, with a quasi-experimental design. The results obtained showed progressive improvement in pragmatics, understanding and intonation. In addition, it was evidenced that the use of alternative methods, mediated by new technologies seem to be equal or more effective than traditional teaching. Even, it is emphasized that better learning of English is perceived using remote strategies than in presence.Item Fortalecimiento de la comprensión lectora por medio de una estrategia didáctica para la solución de problemas matemáticos en estudiantes de básica primaria.(Universidad Antonio Nariño) López Barreto, Leidi Tathiana; Bernal Ballén, Andréssolution of mathematical problems. In that sense, making visible the relationship between the two areas, a didactic strategy was designed, and it responds to the process of compression and analysis of texts for the solution of problems developing and making use and of logical connectors, interpretation, construction and inference of images or graphics. The sample consisted of ten students from third grade. To address this difficulty, a qualitative and quasi-experimental design work was proposed. A didactic strategy was developed with three main instruments. The goal of the first one was to characterize the population, and it consisted of nine questions. The second one, a diagnostic test, consisted of five questions, which had a directed structure into an interpretative/inferential reading, and solution of mathematical problems. And finally, three working guides with a story type were presented to the sample. This research was focused on identifying the levels of written communication in students of a public school in Bogotá as well as to improve the production of argumentative texts. For this purpose, a metacognitive strategy based on regulation and self-regulation processes was designed. This research is a qualitative type with a quasi-experimental design; the methodology included a diagnostic test, with the objective of identifying the student’s perceptions regarding their writing habits. Additionally, two learning guides were designed with the aim of developing metacognitive strategies that would allow the construction of argumentative texts. The results on the diagnostic test indicate that students understand the importance of planning, organizing, and evaluating a text. However, it is important to note that the textual typologies are not clear, students do not propose objectives or goals. That is why, when planning the scriptural process, students do not structure coherent or cohesive texts. The data collected showed that the students in the experimental group significantly improved their texts compared to those in the control group.
