Abstract
A design proposal is presented for the cleaning and maintenance of an aerial conveyor in a chicken meat processing plant. The aim is to streamline processes, reduce production downtime, and improve productivity. The plant was visited to verify available spaces, flow and pressure. Similar equipments served as the base. The final design has two cylindrical brushes (Nylon 6-12, outer diameter 10 in), each mounted on an AISI-304 stainless steel shaft (diameter 25.4 mm and factor of safety 6.5), supported by SKF P52-R-3/4-FM bearings and powered by an M2QA-80M6A asynchronous motor using a RKW-50-d19 rigid coupling. Control by Yaskawa CIMR-VU4A0001FAA is proposed. The distribution of water and detergent (AV-21B) is carried out in a system of rigid and flexible PVC pipes with diameters between 1/8 - 1 pg, with the DOSATRON-D25RE5 dispenser (operation as hydraulic ram). The set of nozzles corresponds to the GG-1/8 – SS-5 of Spraying Systems Co. The calculations showed losses in the distribution system of 0.824 m (energy) and 8 kPa (pressure). The washing system is attached to the main beam, located 3.3 m above ground level, from which a square profile of 75 x 75 x 4 mm is welded from A36 structural steel, joined to L-profiles of 70 x 70 x 6 mm reaching the supports of the brush structure. The calculated weld (factor of safety 2.5) uses E60 electrodes with 3/32 pg fillets.
