dc.description.abstract | Tuberculosis is an infectious and contagious disease that, in 2022, caused approximately 1.3 million deaths, ranking as the tenth leading cause of death worldwide. Moreover, it stands among the most lethal infectious diseases, second only to SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). The disease has two phases, latent and active, with the latent phase being the primary source of active cases.
