Abstract
This project describes the development of a prototype photovoltaic solar tracker with an autonomous mechatronic system, which has superior performance to traditional fixed panel systems, using a programmable microcontroller board that manages the movement sequence in two degrees of freedom of the follower. Initially, it was stablished a conceptual context based on solar energy, the mechanical and electronic tracker’s, taking into account the different concepts necessary for the development of the project, and later it was given the definition of the quantitative technical specifications of the prototype that included all the components of the prototype. Likewise, the design stage comprised by the conceptual, materialization and detail scheme was carried out, which includes the principle of operation and 3D modeling, which clearly shows each of the parts that make it up and that are important for the assembly stage of each of the electromechanical parts and mechanisms; Once this stage was completed, a series of tests were developed that guaranteed the functionality of the prototype according to the planned design, and the results obtained from the tests carried out under different operating conditions and the validations that allowed fulfilling the objectives set out in the draft.
