Abstract
This project corresponding to the design of a practice bench for PLC and variable speed drive with a three-phase electric motor, sometimes with a variable load, in the automation laboratory of the FIMEB faculty in the southern headquarters. The variable load operates through a process of changing the temperature of a working fluid based on its density, performing the monitoring of the temperature of the fluid by means of a controller. During the process, the analysis of different electrical variables present in the operation of the bank is carried out in order to identify the parameters to be adjusted in the variable speed drive to control the RPM of the motor. In this way, encourage the development of practices oriented to the use of industrial programming equipment with the aim of strengthening concepts and acquiring new skills.
The bank is designed to operate with a three-phase motor with maximum power 0.37 kW at a voltage of 220 V ac, the control and monitoring devices (PLC, variator, sensors, pushbuttons) are installed on the front of the bank, which is a metal chest of dimensions 1200 x 600 x 300 mm (width, height, depth).
In addition, assembly manuals are made on site for all components of the practice bench and commissioning instructions, as well as the corresponding programming files for the parameterization of the PLC and the variable speed drive.
