Abstract
Electricity generation from photovoltaic modules on solar trackers is not technically-economically cheap. Due to this, large fields of photovoltaic panels are built aligned, maintaining an angle of inclination calculated in correspondence with the geographical latitude of the place. In order to improve this situation in this research, the problem to be solved is to develop a device that allows improving the efficiency of photovoltaic modules with lower costs and ease of use. The objective of this work consisted of: developing the mechanical system of a solar reflector with azimuth movement for solar panels. To achieve the same, a prototype of a solar reflector with movable flat mirrors for solar panels was designed. The device was built, installed on the roof of the Tunja headquarters of the Antonio Nariño University, a solar panel was ensambled on the system and its operation tests were carried out. Initially, tests were carried out on the operation of the set of elements of the module, which consists of a solar panel, a regulator, and a battery, later the tests of the module itself were carried out but with the use of the reflector system. That the carrying out of this research reached the following conclusions: it is possible and feasible to develop a solar reflector that improves the efficiency of the operation of photovoltaic modules, however, due to the haste of time, the number of tests and their precision are They can be improved to make a more objective assessment of the practical utility of the reflector system. It is recommended to make some modifications to the original design and to repeat the tests to confirm its usefulness.
