Abstract
The objective of this study was to carry out a bibliographic review on Deep Pectoral Myopathy (MPD) or Green Muscle Disease to expand the knowledge of this disease in our country during the period 2015-2021. A bibliographic search was carried out in scientific journals such as Poultry Science, among others, found in databases such as Ebsco, Science direct, Jstor, Dialnet. A total of 28 published articles and 19 articles were found that were excluded from the review. According to the results of the investigation, it was determined that in Colombia the works published on the subject in particular are quite scarce since in the period studied only (4%) of the total corresponds to national production, while (96%) corresponds to foreign production. It was also found that the countries with the highest scientific production related to the (DPM) are: the United States, which accounts for (21%) of the total, followed by Italy, (17%), Spain, (9%), Brazil (8%) and Poland, Russia, Serbia, Iran, Israel, Finland and Romania with (4%) respectively. Most studies agree that (DPM) in broilers produces serious economic losses for the poultry industry and that its appearance is associated with rapid growth, intensive production or selection of broilers and genetic progress.
