Abstract
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is caused by increased pressure on the median nerve at the wrist. This syndrome has variable causes and is more common in white people. Within work conditions, prolonged postures and repetitive movements in both flexion and extension make these the most common risk factors. Objective: Creation of an interactive tool (primer) for the early detection and prevention of CTS. Methodology: A literature review of studies published from 1990 to 2019 was carried out in databases such as Pubmed and Scielo, 13 articles were included which were evaluated and information was extracted on risk factors and occupational exposure in administrative personnel ; In addition, the design and elaboration of the interactive tool (primer) and 4 videos with stretching exercises to prevent CTS were included. Results: The results obtained in the modified Lawshe CVI, showed a general average of the modules of 0.97, which shows a “good” result agreement among the experts. Nine modules showed perfect agreement with CVI values of 1.0; only one evaluated module showed a value of 0.67, which corresponds to a good agreement. Which shows that the primer has content validity. Conclusions: It was possible to establish the applicability of the interactive tool (primer) for the early detection and prevention of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, through this application the worker will benefit since he will be able to identify the risk factors and the clinical manifestations of this syndrome. The design and development of the interactive tool was important to be clear about the means where if it was going to apply, the preparation of the tool to be able to detect people with possible Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), taking into account that the risk in the administrative staff it is more frequent.
