Abstract
The lemon grading process is a task that is traditionally performed in a conventional way (manual), which causes a problem associated with returns due to size variation, generating labor cost overruns for the producer; the document presented sought to develop a prototype of a size grader for common lemon in the Venados de Guacirco farm; the methodology used is based on French (2000) for product design and consists of three phases which are: identification of criteria, prototype selection and construction; the results show a machine with a 0.25 Kw motor with a service factor of 1. 0 that induces a V-belt pulley type A; the effort supported by the chassis structure, when subjected to a maximum force is 45.94 MPa and its efficiency factor is 4.6, so the design for its manufacture presents a high reliability
