Abstract
The aim of this research focuses on characterizing the digital ecosystem in Colombia,
with a look at the evolution of E-commerce, taking into account the international dynamics of
the sectors that stand out in the country. For developing this work, we used the descriptive,
quantitative methodology with a documentary historical approach. First, to identify the policy
and key elements of the digital ecosystem in Colombia, taking as a reference the period from
2015 to 2020, in order to know the beginnings, everything that it
encompasses and how this ecosystem has contributed to the development of the country. As
a second point, we went on to determine the most dynamic sectors in E-commerce that have
helped in the economic growth of the country. In the aforementioned years and finally
describing the dynamics that the most representative sector of the country has implemented
for international sales in order to see how much and how it has helped its economic growth.
Concluding, Colombia has adopted E-commerce as one of the main tools to enter foreign
markets, however, it has been limited in aspects such as supporting small companies in the
implementation of technologies in their processes
