Abstract
The purpose of this degree article is to build and provide fluid mechanics students and teachers at the Antonio Nariño University, Santa Marta headquarters, with a hydraulic test bench where energy losses can be determined in different types of conduits such as , PVC type ¾, ½, hose type ¾, and galvanized type ¾. Furthermore, it is suitable for simulating the effect called "water hammer" and calculating the characteristic curve of the connected electric pump. This equipment has a circuit of conduits for each test. In case of using it for energy loss tests, only the specific piping circuit to be checked must be selected and the data measured by the accessories of the hydraulic bench must be taken, since it has both pressure gauges with a pressure range of 0-150 psi, at the inlets and outlets of the conduits to be measured, separated by a distance of 1.80m, as a flow meter and specialized valves for each test. The data collected is recorded in tables specially designed for the practices of students and teachers. The article has been structured in the sections of the specific objectives, where, to begin with, the functions and tests suitable in the bench are identified and followed by the design, construction and verification of their functionalities to later leave a guide for general use and specific practice.
