Abstract
Currently, WiFi technology is used worldwide for wireless communication. Despite its wide use, WiFi has some conditions that are intended to improve, such as security, interference with other radio frequency (RF) signals and bandwidth. Recently, Visible Light Communication (VLC) has become an alternative to WiFi. This work addresses the implementation of a communication system with visible light, using pulse-amplitude modulation (PAM) and a PIN photodiode-based receiver, as a device for data interface a 32-bit microcontroller and in conjunction with a graphical interface of HTerm software. It is proposed to implement a functional prototype that transmits and receives modulated / demodulated information using OFDM through a PIN photodiode, which achieves transfer rates in the order of Kbps.
