Abstract
The storage operations of granulated material are a key function in a wide variety and number of industries, preserving materials or dosing them for entry into processing processes are a task that tower silos allow to perform in a very efficient way, these allow to handle a large amount of stock thanks to the use of the cubic space. They are also the most convenient way to preserve all types of granulated material given their waterproof properties against air pollutants, allowing the percentages of material loss to be drastically reduced in storage. The silo level is an indicator that shows us what percentage of silo capacity used, this information is valuable when programming production or knowing what the amount of material stored is. The methodology contemplated three phases, bibliographic review, analysis and configuration according to methods, devices and finally different tools are obtained that are applied according to their level and type of process. As a result, two tools were obtained that represented innovation in the field of new uses and new product, which were a field device that is composed of two sensors that improve a measurement system of little accuracy based on the Jidoka principle, and a dashboard that contemplates the Andón approach, which allows a better interpretation of the level measurement in addition to generating alarms that prevent operational errors.
