Abstract
This research project aims to generate complementary design alternatives to improve the
quality of public space in the pedestrianization of Calle 30 in the city of Palmira, taking into
account that it is the main urban nucleus of socioeconomic, historical and architectural
development of the municipality. When addressing the different consequential problems of the
spatial transformations of the commercial sector caused by the lack of regularization of land use
for the conservation of heritage vestiges, the lines of paramentation, mobility, environmental and
residual management, as well as the articulation urban with the other adjacent urban areas.
By enhancing the quality public space in the sector through design alternatives, it will be
achieved through a process of theoretical analysis based on the project references and the
dynamics that are currently presented on Calle 30. When diagnosing the different lacking or weak
aspects, They understand urban dynamics through the normative instruments for intervention as
part of the analysis instruments to argue the spatial characterization, the forms are categorized
and deepened to give priority to the design elements that have the purpose of ordering and
alternating options for the regularization of changes futures of the object of study.
