Abstract
The students of the Mechanical Engineering program of the Antonio Nariño University, Neiva headquarters, are unable to develop the laboratory practices related to the flow and pressure curves in fans, because they do not have a test bench for these practices. According to this, the proposed research work aims to implement a wind tunnel test bench for the study of the flow curve vs. pressure in centrifugal fan at the Antonio Nariño University in Neiva, in order to meet this need. The methodology designed to achieve this objective includes 3 phases, which begin with the theoretical foundation to determine the principles used in the bench, as power delivered, flow; a second phase that includes the pre design of the tunnel and its components using CAD-CAM tools such as Autocad and soliword; a third phase that includes the manufacture of the tunnel, supports, housing, as well as the assembly of elements such as the engine and the fan to the whole tunnel. As a final result, a wind tunnel type test bench is built for the study of the flow vs. pressure curve in centrifugal fan, the operation and maintenance manual and the laboratory guide for the students of the mechanical engineering program of the Antonio Nariño University in Neiva.
