Abstract
Anxiety and depression is considered one of the disorders of great relevance to
mental health and that grows more frequently day after day. The general objective of the
present study was to determine the relationship between symptoms of anxiety and
depression in adult pregnant women treated in the gynecological/obstetrician service in the
Maicao clinical medical society in the year 2023. Consequently, the variables of anxiety
and depression were measured, with a quantitative and cross-sectional study, which also
corresponds to a non-experimental design and a scope correlational, with a population of
72 pregnant women and a sample of 61 participants. The instrument used for data
collection was the HAD Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale; a statistical analysis was also
carried out using the Pearson r coefficient, through the PSPP version 1.6.2 program.
