Abstract
Raymond Duval's theory of semiotic representations constitutes a semiotic approach to Mathematics Education that proposes explaining complex phenomena such as the cognitive functioning of Mathematical Thinking and comprehension in mathematics, starting only by taking into account such representations and their transformations.
