Impresiones definitivas por medio de escáner digital en coronas de zirconio: Revisión de alcance
(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Posada González, Laura Katerine; Lopez, Diana Marcela; Rivera Quiroga, Raúl Eduardo
This article presents a comprehensive review on the use of digital scanners in obtaining final impressions for zirconia crowns in dentistry. Digital scanning technology has undergone a significant transformation in dental impression processes, resulting in a substantial reduction in the required time and a remarkable improvement in patient comfort. This review was based on the search for articles published from 2019 to 2023 in the SCOPUS and PubMed databases, using five search formulas with MeSH terms. Initially, 1286 articles were identified in SCOPUS, and 441 articles in PubMed. Subsequently, after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a final database comprising 326 relevant articles was obtained, named "ZircodentalDB."

Material and methods: A descriptive study was carried out that included 219 infants and adolescents aged 6 to 18 years in the municipality of Buenavista, Quindío; parameters for the analysis of oral habits were included, as well as the determination of facial biotype by means of the opening angle, Glatzel tests, Payne's technique). Descriptive analysis (frequencies and percentages) and Chi-square test were performed to evaluate if the number of habits was related to facial biotype.

Background: Endodontic sealing cements have been the subject of study in recent years by numerous researchers and as a result of these investigations new products have been developed, with different sealing properties, but their antimicrobial activity remains unclear, since the results are dissimilar and difficult to compare with each other. In the course of research, it has been shown that the proper choice and application of endodontic sealing cements play a key role in the longterm success of endodontic treatment. It is essential to consider the physical and chemical properties of these materials, as well as the need to individualize each clinical case in order to select the most appropriate sealer cement
