With the CAEX questionnaire, validated by Luis Valero Aguayo in 1999. Which is divided into four categories: concern, physiological reactions, situations and avoidance responses; that were evaluated through 50 questions, which are answered with the Likert-type scale with values of 0 and 5. (I feel nothing, Almost nervous, A little nervous, Somewhat nervous, Very nervous, Totally nervous). Results: The final result of the sum of the arithmetic means of anxiety before exams, allows to identify that the anxiety in general of the students of the Faculty of Dentistry, is at a "low" level. Regarding the academic performance of the students of the Faculty of Dentistry, it was found that there is statistical significance between gender and the domain of physiological responses (p = 0.041). Conclusions: The final result of the anxiety level of the students of the Faculty of Dentistry, is at a "low" level, no statistical relationship with academic performance was found.Item Análisis del Conocimiento, Actitudes y Prácticas del uso de Elementos de Protección en el Personal de la salud de la Universidad Antonio Nariño sede Villavicencio en el año 2023(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Hernández Mejía, Aslhey Daniela; Parrado Ibáñez, Diana Marcela; Burbano Erazo, Paola Andrea; Peñuela Munévar, Ritba Camila; Baquero Padilla, Luis AlejandroThe use of Personal Protective Elements by the health services team to reduce crosscontamination and the spread of diseases is becoming increasingly important. The COVID-19 pandemic is an example of this importance, which is why this research focuses on identifying: the knowledge, attitudes, and practices in the use of PPE in students and dentists at the Antonio Nariño University, Villavicencio campus. , during the year 2023. To achieve this objective, an observational, qualitative-quantitative, cross-sectional study was carried out, in which 79 people participated, including students, professionals and dental assistants, to whom two information collection instruments were applied (survey and a data collection format), validated by experts, with reliability determined under Cronbach's alpha (82.3%). The results indicate that 46.8% acceptable levels of knowledge in the majority of participants, excellent levels in both attitudes (98.7%), and good levels in PPE use practices (54.4%) by students and dentists in the clinic of the Antonio Nariño University headquarters in Villavicencio. In conclusion, despite the acceptable level of knowledge about the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the dental clinic, it should be highlighted that the staff observed demonstrate a good level of practice in its use in their work and an excellent level in the attitude towards the use of PPE. Keywords: Knowledge, Attitudes, Practices, Personal Protection Elements.Item Comparación de dieta, propiedades salivales, hábitos de higiene oral y su asociación con caries dental en dos instituciones educativas de la comuna 8 Ibagué-Tolima(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Candia Duran, Yessica Andrea; Carrillo Silvestre, Natalia Andrea; Páez Trujillos, Jessica Mayury; Trujillo Güiza, Martha Liliana; Roys, Jacqueline; Solano, CarlosIntroduction: diet, salivary properties and oral habits, the roles a fundamental role in the formation of dental caries, where children between the ages of 3 to 5 years are at high risk of developing early childhood caries. That's when assisted brushing, oral hygiene education that parents or guardians instill in children, an intake of healthy food according to age and the importance of making regular visits to the dentist are essential to prevent the appearance of caries. Objective: to compare diet, salivary properties, oral hygiene habits and its association with dental caries in two educational institutions of different levels (public and private) in community 8, Ibagué-Tolima. Methodology: In this study, the comparison of the previous variables related to the levels of glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides present in saliva was performed. The research was carried out at the Colegio Nuevo Liceo El Castillo (Private) and Hogar Infantil Arcoíris (Public) schools with a sample of 30 children who met the inclusion criteria for the study. A survey was carried out of the children and teachers in charge, anthropometric parameters were taken and a dental clinical examination was carried out using the index of decayed, extracted and filled teeth (CEO-d), and finally a salivary sample collection. Conclusion: that according to the results of this work, the children of the (public) institution have higher carbohydrate consumption, less help in assisted brushing, and the vast majority do not brush their teeth in the afternoon, and have higher carbohydrate consumption. , son with the highest caries index related to the children of the Private School.Item Factores de riesgo determinantes asociados a caries dental en niños de 6 a 12 años. Revisión de la literatura(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Jáuregui Díaz, Luis Alejandro; Vera Galvis, Andrés Felipe; Caicedo Díaz, Sandra Milena; Ramírez Sulvaran, Jesús ArturoDental caries is the most widespread health problem among the population of all ages and although a clear decline has been observed in recent years in developed countries, the same does not happen in less wealthy countries, which has sparked interest of researchers to study the risk factors of dental caries, as well as its prevalence.Item Evaluar el selle apical en dientes con formación apical incompleta a partir de la inducción con fibrina rica en plaquetas: Un reporte de caso(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Ortiz Rodríguez, Sandy Julieth; Durán Botia, Lineth Piedad; Gutiérrez Ramírez, David; Manosalva Estrada, María AlejandraPulp necrosis in immature teeth is a pathology with high frequency in children and adolescents, generally associated with trauma or a dental caries that compromises the functionality of the tooth and its longevity in the mouth. The commonly managed protocol is conventional root canal treatment. Recently, regenerative therapies have been introduced that restore vitality but with high-cost materials. Platelet-rich fibrin has shown regenerative potential in other areas of dentistry. It is possible that PRF could help promote revitalization of teeth with these types of cases.Item Relación entre las Concentraciones de Inmunoglobulina A Salival y Caries en Niños de 6 a 14 años de la Institución Educativa Ana Elisa Cuenca Lara del Municipio de Yaguará(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Gómez Castrillón, Karla Lucia; Anacona Muñoz, Lizbeth Natalia; Morales Ortiz, Laura Socorro; Biveros Benavides, María José; Roa Navarro, Armando; García Ortiz, Claudia LorenaIntroduction: Saliva is considered an important marker that can determine a person's oral health condition; it has multiple functions; one of these is to act as an antimicrobial agent against the pathophysiology of infectious processes such as caries and gingival disease, where microorganisms are one of the most important etiological factors; It is composed of Immunoglobulin A (IgA), which constitutes approximately 15% of serum immunoglobulina and predominates in its secretory form (IgA) in saliva. Objective: the aim to determine the relationships between salivary immunoglobulin A concentrations and dental caries in children from 6 to 14 years of age from the Ana Elisa Cuenca Lara educational institution in the municipality of Yaguará. Materials and Methods: The methodology includes an in-depth, descriptive observational cross-sectional study, from a non-invasive saliva collection using a radial immunodiffusion technique to a sample of 30 children, the results will be processed using descriptive statistics using stata 14 software. Results: The characteristics of the study population show that 81% of children were in an ICDAS range of 1 to 6 with caries, of which 16% have ICDAS type 6, which causes damage to the cavity with extensions of the more than 50% of the dental surface; 17% of this population brushes before each meal, which corresponds to poor hygiene and hygiene practices of the oral systemItem Relación entre maloclusión, forma del cóndilo y postura corporal en niños mediante una revisión literaria, año 2020.(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Luna Ramirez, Karen Yineth; Sastoque Alméciga, Gloria Julieth; Valderrama Córdoba, ElizabethIntroduction: The biomechanics between dental occlusion, condyle shape and body posture has generated a growing interest on the subject; because of the different interrelations between them and because postural problems have been observed in patients with malocclusion. At present, malocclusions are present in the child population, which trigger consequences at the functional and aesthetic level, that with the passage of time bring variations on the temporomandibular joint that are characterized by pain, dysfunction of the masticatory system and tend to cause alterations in dental occlusion. Objective: To establish the relationship betweenmalocclusion, shape of the condyle and body posture in children through a literary review in the year 2020. Methodology: Thirty-four articles from databases such as Pubmed, Mediagraphic, Scielo, Scopus and Dialnet were used. Fourteen of these articles were selected for the descriptive narrative literature review research, where the variables of the study, as well as the inclusion and exclusion criteria were taken into account. Results: It was possible to show that all the studies that related the variable of dental malocclusion and body posture had a significant relationship when one of these was altered and, therefore, are associated with each other. Regarding the shape of the condyle, no studies were found where there was any relationship with dental malocclusions and body posture, they only related it to temporomandibular dysfunctions and condyle asymmetries. Conclusions: From the research conducted, it was concluded that the prevalence of malocclusions is significant in each study reviewed and that indeed any imbalance in the oral cavity influenced the body posture of patients. The postural alterations that were most prevalent in the studies reviewed, related to dental malocclusions were scoliosis associated with dental class II and lordosis to a lesser extent associated with dental class I. As for the analysis of the shape of the mandibular condyle, it was not possible to find a relationship with malocclusions and body posture due to the lack of studies and scientific evidence. It was simply possible to observe different shapes such as round, flattened, convex or angulated and whether or not there was symmetry in comparison with dysfunctions in the temporomandibular joint.Item Efectos adversos del tratamiento farmacológico con Antirresortivos en cirugía oral vs enfermedad periodontal: Revisión sistemática de la literatura.(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Vargas Arias, Angie Melisa; Roys Rubio, JacquelineBisphosphonates are drugs used to prevent bone loss, care for malignant bone diseases involving bone (multiple myeloma, hypercalcemia), bone metastases from cancer (prostate, breast, lung and kidney) but also have adverse effects in the oral cavity such as mandibular osteonecrosis (ONJ), which causes bone death of the affected or treated area, often caused after treatments involving manipulation of the mandibular or maxillary bone such as dental extractions, placement of implants, periodontal surgery or maxillofacial surgery.and non-malignant bone diseases (osteoporosis, Piaget's disease) (Carlos Rivas Bejar, 2017). Objective: To evaluate the adverse effects of anti-resortive agents in oral surgery procedures vs. periodontal disease mentioned in case reports. Method: Systematic review of the literature, performing a qualitative documentary analysis in studies, using relevant data obtained by other researchers, where the available evidence will be studied, we will address the association between antirresortives and adverse effects generated in oral surgery and patients with periodontal disease in case reports from 2010 to 2020. Results. The authors point out that severe periodontal disease and oral surgeries were the only dental variables that show a significant association with the development of osteonecrosis of the jaws. (Bermudez, 2017). Conclusions. After interpreting all the information contained in different studies used for the present systematic review, we found that most patients who are treated with anti-resortive drugs and have to be operated on develop maxillary osteonecrosis in a higher percentage than patients with the same pharmacological treatment who present periodontal disease.Item Hábitos de estudio en estudiantes universitarios de Palmira. It is an indispensable instrument to record in detail the patient's conditions and to establish in clinical practice a correct diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan. In recent years, no significant changes have been observed in the format of the Antonio Nariño 4 University, therefore, this research aims to identify the perception of students and teachers regarding the current format of the clinical history. A descriptive study was carried out in which a questionnaire was applied to 303 people from the different branches of the university nationwide, the data were tabulated and plotted in Microsoft Excel, yielding data on the perception of students and teachers regarding the clinical history format of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Antonio Nariño University (FOUAN).Item Regeneración pulpar en dientes maduros usando células madre, una revisión narrativa(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Arias González, Yenifer Caterine; Martínez Betancourt, Juan JoséAt present, conventional endodontics is a procedure that presents a variety of side effects in the future, that is why pulp regeneration and/or revascularization therapies are developed, which are usually performed in immature permanent teeth in order to generate more conservative treatments. In recent years and in the recent advances in tissue engineering, a way has been registered for pulp therapy that allows us the complete pulp regeneration of mature teeth, in which advantage is taken of the differentiation capacity of residual pulp stem cells. These cells are capable of generating a highly vascularized living tissue rich in connective tissue, which colonizes the available pulp space. However, until the completion of this review, no method has been reported in the literature as viable for clinical application in humans.Item Método Lamendin y González-Colmenares para determinar la edad dental de un grupo poblacional en Colombia(Universidad Antonio Nariño) Palma Noguera, Angie Liceth; Pérez Jaramillo, AdolfoObjective: To determine the effectiveness of the Lamendin and GonzálezColmenares method to determine the age in a specific group of individuals in Colombia.
