Abstract
One of the strategies used by governments of Latin America and the Caribbean to achieve a reduction in social inequalities without neglecting the dynamics of development and economic growth has been the promotion of financial services according to the needs of low-income sectors. However, this effort must be accompanied by an increase in financial capacities so that the population can make responsible decisions in the selection and / or use of the services offered by the sector. In this sense, financial education (EF) programs facilitate the development of such skills. Although in Colombia, the financial sector has developed PE programs, measurements carried out by the World Bank in 2013 (BRC, 2013), evidence that the population still lacks the minimum financial knowledge and skills required to make economic and financial decisions responsible. In this sense, this research seeks to evaluate the impact of PE programs that financial institutions have carried out with women in the active stage (age between 18 to 56 years) of the city of Santiago de Cali-Colombia in construction capacities in this population group
