Abstract
The management of biomedical technology is a technical-administrative activity, which mainly seeks to guarantee the patient safety in healthcare processes. Likewise it emphasizes activities to prolong the useful life of biomedical equipment; However, it is a complex task by the breadth of the Colombian regulatory framework, due to the lack of standardized programs that carry out actions in the life cycle of technology and the scarcity of evaluation mechanisms in hospital systems, therefore It is necessary to design a methodology based on national standards and those defined by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, with the main objective of evaluating the postmarket cycle in the stages of clinical use and maintenance of the technology, based on weighting criteria for the level of compliance defined as fundamental, progressive and advanced, which will be found in a software tool created through a programming system (Matlab), integrating normative, strategic and operational components, to be applied and validated in the Susana López de Valencia ESE Hospital, achieving objective results regarding the management of health technologies, allowing opportunity in decision-making and adjustments to clinical engineering programs, with the purpose of strengthening patient safety in institutions that provide health services.
