Abstract
The proximal tibia fracture fixation plates are one of several bone fixation systems widely used in the clinical setting. A commercial level in countries such as Colombia is one of the fixation devices with the greatest demand due to the high numbers of fractures that present a level of this bone location. In Colombia, Industrias Medicas Sampedro S.A.S is one of the leading companies in the sale of this type of device.0020 The objective of this study is to evaluate the mechanical performance of a proximal tibia plate under mechanical loads produced by the human body, using simulation by the finite element method, based on existing standard norms for the mechanical validation of these plates. The results obtained from the different parameters evaluated can be used as scientific support for a commercial piece distributed by Industrias Medicas Sampedro S.A.S and as a basis for dimensional improvements in future products.
