Abstract
In Colombia, the military forces have had a historical role in the development of the
country, therefore, constitutionally, jurisdictional figures of these bodies have been created for
their proper functioning, such as the criminal and disciplinary military jurisdiction, a jurisdiction
mostly studied and managed by the same members of the military forces, on many occasions
away from the university cloisters due to the perception that their study is not necessary because
they belong to a legal regime different from the one customarily handled by most of the 6
country's law schools .
This perception has triggered the fact that universities do not study these branches of law
in depth, despite the fact that their legal office students can handle disciplinary processes of
military forces as public defenders, and law programs as they do not have education. of that
jurisdictional branch will not give their students instruction on this kind of processes and the
defense that these students will develop will not be efficient, causing damage to those military
units that trusted to request support from the legal consulting offices.
