Abstract
In the Colombian context, inequalities in the educational landscape are evident, especially in environments far from the center of the country. These disparities are due to the lack of execution of public policy, state abandonment and corruption in local governments, among other factors. This research work aims to address the problem of academic performance in an educational institution in the department of La Guajira, providing an approximation that can serve as a reference for future studies and analyzes that seek to solve existing conflicts around this problem.
