Abstract
The teaching and learning process in the mathematics context of the basic secondary contributes to the resolution of problems of everyday life. This research offer activities focused on the development of spatial thinking and aleatory thinking, with non-routine problem solving in tenth graders students of the Institution José María Carbonell of San Antonio. Methodologically, Critical mathematics education, Wegner’s Community of Practice and problem solving of Schoenfeld are used as theoretical framework, in order for the students appropriate of mathematics concepts and at the same time, assume a critical position about problems of their environment and the general situation of the country.
