Abstract
Gentrification is a process of urban transformation in which the original population of a neighborhood is gradually displaced, this phenomenon is incorporated into the economic changes of a city and is part of the instruments of Capitalist territorial planning. The present research focuses on the Zonal Planning Unit (UPZ) 28 Rincón, in the town of Suba, which is immersed in gentrifying dynamics since 1998, when it intervenes directly neighborhoods surrounding the Juan Amarillo wetland, for the restoration to the vegetation cover on the edges and islands of the lagoon in the upper third, initiating a phenomenon of urban, social, economic and political transformation, when awarding new projects of equipments of urban scale, with the argument of improving the public space and the conditions of accessibility and mobility of the sector with activities complementary to housing, contemplated in the POT.
