Abstract
The regulations governing the exploration and use of underground water resources in Colombia are aligned with the issuance of Decree 1541 of 1978, recently accepted and updated with Decree 1076 of 2015, guiding the regulation of the use of water resources for more than 40 years. The mining aspect is governed by the Mining Code (CM) issued in 2001 that introduces environmental licensing (LA) for the development of mining projects; Therefore, it has been for 20 years that the mining activity has considered, in addition to the minimum requirements for the use of underground water, the analysis of impacts and environmental management measures in the hydrogeological component
