Abstract
It is evident that the Colombian market does not offer a neutral liquid soap for the hygiene of removable appliances, which is why elements such as toothpaste, which has abrasive properties, are used, these can damage the appliances containing acrylic and cause a decrease in their effectiveness, it is also found that they clean the prosthesis with liquid hand soap, a product that has an unpleasant taste, is not portable and is dangerously abrasive or toxic if ingested. It is for this reason that the proposal of a neutral liquid soap for odontological use is presented which adjusts to the particular needs of the population, in order to facilitate the cleaning of appliances without producing alterations in the components of said appliances.
Six samples of liquid soap with different components and concentrations were made. The project was carried out in two phases, the first one consisted in the elaboration of the formula of the neutral liquid soap and then the preparation of the proposed formulas. When the results are obtained, it is evaluated if the variables such as time and temperature produce alterations in the final result. After analyzing the products, it was determined that the sample with the best performance and highest stability was number 6, since it did not produce any type of alteration, maintained a pH of 7 and also has two ideal components, copper sulfate, which has an antibacterial action and aloe vera, which has an anti-inflammatory and healing action, which makes an excellent proposal for the neutral liquid soap formula, providing excellent benefits.
