Abstract
Theft of energy, as a criminal activity of defrauding fluids, has become a problem of an economic and social nature that drastically impacts the energy sector, generating millions in losses for electric power trading companies and users, which has an impact on reduction in income from unbilled energy, deterioration of the useful life of the equipment installed in the electric power distribution network and lastly, cost overruns which are generally applied to the user, causing a high value in the invoice rates. For this reason, a study to reduce non-technical electrical energy losses is essential, based on the company DELTEC S.A, which provides the information on technical and commercial data for the UPZ 82 Patio Bonito circuits. In the area, there are clients dedicated to the wood industry, plastics production, ornamentation, meat products marketers, and bakeries; where direct connections associated with theft, fraud and administrative errors are identified in taking the monthly reading, so it is essential and extremely important to know and evaluate each one of them to identify and quantify the non-technical losses generated, finally it is proposed a strategy that allows to project a reduction in non-technical energy losses.
