Abstract
For 20 years, Colombia has had a high aging process of its population; people over 65 years of age represent 11% of population, which affects the social dynamics and requires corresponding policies with this phenomenon. Our tradition, promotes care for the elderly in their home, but the coverage of geriatric homes reaches 1%. For this reason, the design of a Integral Geriatric Center is proposed under the concept of active old age, that is, the recognition of the role of the elderly in society. Tolima is a department with the highest growth rates of this population and Coello is a municipality that guarantees ease of access, pleasant climate and development possibilities, and then the project is located there. The Operational Framework, the designs of the Urban and Specific Proposals are presented and advances in public policies, designs and financing are recommended.
