Abstract
To design, plan and build a vehicular structure, civil engineering focuses on the
specificities contained in the international standard AASHTO LRFD, which Colombia adjusts to
the national reality through CCP-2014, aimed at promoting technically efficient structures
subject to criteria ethical-professionals, that improve communication and local and national
mobility, that attend to variations in temperature depending on the region in which the design is
projected. Meeting current regulations necessarily leads to thinking about the endogenous and
exogenous influences to which the structure is subjected, to consider the incidence of these
elements in the deterioration. Evaluating the variation of the temperature in the vehicular bridge
of Terreros Soacha, needs an approach to the normative consideration applied for this mixed
bridge (concrete and steel), subjected to thermal gradients produced by environmental factors
that impact on the area (ambient temperature, radiation solar, wind speed, rainfall, cloud cover,
among others), not contemplated in the Colombian technical standard. The objective is to
evaluate the behavior of the thermal variation in the vehicular structure of Terreros (Soacha), to
provide reference information to the design temperatures of mixed structure bridges, comparing
the results obtained in the field using the FLIR ONE PRO thermal camera and those obtained
through the application of the numerical model.
