Abstract
The Tecniviera Company, dedicated to the metalworking industry in the Sugamuxi region, has a process aims to make a 20 cm thread at one end of the 2.4, 6 and 12 meter corrugated rods with a diameter of 1 Inch which is supplied by Acerías Paz del rio, but before the threading can be carried out, the rod must be conditioned through a roughing process so that it can be worked on the threading machine since its corrugated shape does not allow the material of the In a better way, the Tecniviera company is developing the roughing process by means of polishing machines, assigning a workforce of 4 operators and incurring high production costs such as electricity and polishing discs, as well as the same maintenance of the polishing machines and causing important working conditions such as contamination by particulate matter and noise pollution, The objective of this project to improve productivity and technique of this process, due to this we want to design and manufacture a set of tip roughing for threading of corrugated rod, mitigating said conditions and reducing production costs. The project methodology is descriptive with an applied approach in which a set of roughing is designed and implemented from the design conditions d erived from the needs of the process prior to threading, in the initial phase a diagnosis of the conditions is developed current process and the necessary requirements to determine what can be improved and implement new techniques for this process. Second phase constitutes the analysis of the manufacturing conditions from the bibliographic information and the information collected in the production plant, from this analysis the variables of the system are determined, the design of the set and the analysis of the technical feasibility of the point roughing set for rebar threading. In the third phase, the operating conditions are identified from pilot tests that define the level of implementation of the roughing set, in this phase the adaptation to the production process and the breakdown of its effects according to the needs of the general process is also identified. As a result of the development of this project, the general design and configuration of the roughing assembly, the operating conditions and the performance indices are obtained that compare the final workflows with respect to the initial workflows. Based on these results, the technical, economic and operational feasibility to implement the project is identified, achieving evidence of the change that occurs in the process thanks to the whole. This project concludes that the implementation is feasible and the organization is recommended to execute the command and control phase that characterizes the technology implementation processes.
