Abstract
Abstract The tripanosomides are protozoa of the Trypanosomatidae family, several of them of medical importance, among which are Leishmania sp and Trypanosoma sp. with life cycles are complex. Some of these protozoa are Trypanosoma brucei, Trypanosoma cruzi, and Leishmania sp., and Phytomonas; all are etiological agents of mammalian diseases and some like the Phytomonas of edible plants and fruits. In this study, the presence of trypanosomiases in the intestinal content of Hemiptera insects of the Heteroptera suborder was determined by capturing the specimens in the village of La Aguadita and the village of Chinauta, in the municipality of Fusagasugá, Cundinamarca, the village of San Ignacio in the municipality of Soata, and Chanares village in the municipality of San Pablo de Borbur, Boyacá, Colombia, using as a guide for capturing the morphological characteristics described in the scientific literature on the taxonomic classification of Hemiptera Heteroptera.. For the determination of the presence of forms compatible with tripanosomatides, the method of visual inspection under the light microscope of the content of the rectal ampulla of the previously taxonomically classified specimens was used. Between April 2018 and October 2019, 126 specimens belonging to the families Coreidae, Pentatomidae, Pyrrhocoridae, and Reduviidae were captured in the municipalities of Fusagasugá Cundinamarca, Soatá, and San Pablo de Borbur Boyacá. Of these hemipterans analyzed, the families Coreidae and Reduviidae showed intestinal trypanosomiases. The presence of Trypanosomatidae in phytophagous and entomophagous heteropterans increases the risk of dissemination of protozoa of public health interest.
