Abstract
Cancer is a pathology that affects 1 in 6 cats, being one of the main causes of death in this species. The early and adequate treatment of the different types of cancer that occur is almost a competence that the current veterinarian must acquire (Blackwood, 2013). Skin neoplasms originate from the epidermis and the structures that are associated with it. To facilitate diagnosis and a good prognosis, these neoplasms are divided according to their differentiation into specific sub-elements. Histologically, it is divided into benign or malignant, based on known symptoms and according to histological predictors of behavior. The World Health Organization (WHO) classification system for tumor node metastases can be applied to skin neoplasms in the clinic. The location is also prognostic for a particular neoplasm (Withrow et al, 2013).
