Abstract
The present study aimed to analyze the social representations of the psychotherapeutic process that students of the psychology program of the Antonio Nariño University have. 6 students participated in the study, 3 from the first semester and 3 from the last semester, coming from the psychology career. The study was based on the theory of social representations of Moscovici and Jodelet. A qualitative research design used for the study of social representations was implemented and the interview was used as methodological strategies. To carry out the categorization process, we start from the basic functions of social representations, which have three dimensions, in which they are developed and integrated, give an idea of their content and their meaning, these are: information, field representation and attitude.
In the results, taking into account that the students surveyed, half of them are in the first semester of training and the other half correspond to students in the last semester, as a whole, the representations of the psychotherapeutic process are not different between the two groups.
That is, common elements appear in the speeches of the interviewees that determine the organization and meaning of what is represented.
