Abstract
Child physical abuse is a public health problem that causes a series of
consequences in the optimal development of the minor and the family, mainly damaging
the bonds of affection and trust in the parental system. Therefore, for its study a
qualitative research of phenomenological design is proposed as a methodological
instrument for the description and interpretation of the problem studied; the sample is
made up of 5 parents who are victims of physical abuse in their childhood in the
Municipality of Chiquinquirá, having as main objective the meanings investigated from
the perceptions, emotions and motivations understood from the subjectivity and
experience of the participants, the conceptions that they have on the subject and the
importance of this event of which they were victims for their role as father of the family,
resulting in the naturalization of physical abuse, being socially accepted and used as
effective disciplinary control; approaching from the theoretical perspective of Belsky's
ecological model, which allows to base and understand the contexts in which a person
develops and their interaction with all systems, where the presence of a family
environment conducive to the care of the minor is indicated, and the analysis of the
family dynamics and new configurations that are presented is achieved.
