Abstract
The general objective of the present study was to determine the effect of the adaptation and application of the Cooperative emotional education program (EDEMCO) in the emotional regulation of third A grade students of the Álvaro Camargo de la Torre ETB School. The EDEMCO program (Ambrona & López-Pérez, 2012), in its original version, was designed to be implemented in person, however, due to the current health contingency, it was adapted under the “learning at home” strategy. The focus of the study was quantitative, which is sequential and evidential. A pre-experimental exploratory design was used. The evaluation instrument used was the Scale of Difficulties in Emotional Regulation, DERS, which was applied before and after the implementation of the program. Significant advances were evidenced in the group of students in the dimension of strategies from the statistical point of view. In the dimensions of awareness, goals and non-acceptance, there were positive but slight changes, while in the dimensions of impulsivity and emotional clarity, there were no significant changes and the scores remained stable. The total score of the test showed that the adaptation and application of the EDEMCO emotional education program can be a valuable tool for the training of emotional regulation of these boys and girls in their school stage.
