Abstract
This article summarizes a reflection on how the Colombian state has contributed to the materialization of the social paradigm of disability. For this purpose, a documentary, bibliographic and jurisprudence review has been carried out that allows knowing the historical evolution of the disability model, the characteristics of the legal system regarding the confrontation with the ideology of the independent life movement
