Abstract
The study of the behavior of the spatial distribution of the particulate material was carried out (PM10), during the period from 2013 to 2019, in the carboniferous zone of the 8 stations of the Baja Guajira located in the northeast of Colombia. The results indicated the maximum concentrations of (PM10) as follows: 123.60 μgm3, 100.60 μgm3, 95.60 μgm3,75.22 μgm3, 64.03 μgm3, registered in the evaluated periods. The meteorological conditions associated with the maximum values of (PM10) were observed as follows: rainfall of 106.20 mm, wind speeds greater than 1.91 m/s, with one wind direction (NNE-NEE). The development of spatial and statistical analysis allows us to identify the direct relationship of the meteorological variables with the generations of open pit mining operations.
