Abstract
In this article a study of the state of public policies that promote investment in both health and local education for the period 2012 - 2019 in the city of Bogota was carried out, comprising a development of the same based on the identification of the main public policies established for the city around the health sector and the education sector proposed within the local Development Plan so that, a brief demographic characterization of the city, the health system and the education system is constructed, and the factors that affect health and education in the city are discovered according to the efficiency of the public policies proposed and applied, This, stated as a basis for the subsequent analysis of the incidence of these in the growth and development of the city as projections towards the welfare of the population, where a comparison is made of the mayoralties immediately prior to the current one, that is, the mayoralty of Gustavo Petro and Enrique Peñalosa, in order to contrast figures that allow to see the performance of the former mayors in the health and education sectors, the policies established by them from the development plans of each one and the resources allocated as investment in such economic sectors.
