Abstract
The need to satisfy the demand for energy in communities where there is no electricity
supply or where it is very deficient has led to studies and proposals to offer the possibility
of providing electricity to these communities. This work consists of a study to supply the
shortages of electrical energy in the community of El Danubio, municipality of Dagua (Valle
del Cauca). Most of this community has incipient access to electricity, limiting the possibility
of social and economic development. The project contemplates the study of the population
and their needs for electrical energy and how they could use it. A group of dwellings in that
hamlet is considered and possible consumption is determined when using light bulbs,
refrigerators, televisions and other appliances for basic use in homes.
