Abstract
Bogotá is a scenario that due to its mismanagement and projection has suffered
damage from sudden heavy rains, which have generated panic in different areas of
the city, one of them is the Usaquén sector where heavy rains exposed large floods
that caused material losses, collapse in traffic and an impact on commerce.
At present, no in-depth studies have been carried out on the causes of this
phenomenon in the sector, for this reason, the only information available is that
provided by institutions such as the National Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology
and Environmental Studies. (IDEAM), and by the District Institute for Risk
Management and Climate Change (IDIGER), where the IDF curve with a period of
100 years will be taken into account for this model, for the study of precipitation in
a return period of 100 years of Bogota city, additionally, that of the company
Aqueduct and sewerage of Bogotá for the data of the locations of the sumps, pipes,
wells and channels, being the result of a topographic survey work in 2019.
The purpose of this project is to carry out hydrometeorological modeling of the
urban area of Usaquén specifically in the Torca sub-basin, making use of different
software such as ArcGIS, EPA SWMM and EpaCAD for the study of this
climatological phenomenon, analyzing variables such as runoff and time to thus to
be able to establish the most vulnerable areas to floods in the sector
