Abstract
The development of a PID to control the output voltage of a Variac is the main objective of this work; This with the aim of solving the hypothesis that arises. What is the best alternative to modernize the manual control of a Variac and turn it into automated equipment? For this reason a controller card is developed, and it characterizes the system to find the transfer equation and the PID constants using the Matlab IDENT, followed by the elaboration of an HMI interface in Labview to operate and monitor the Variac, finally it was validated the functionality of the system developed by determining the error and identifying its trend line to reduce it as much as possible.
