Abstract
Throughout national history, coffee has been a source of income and of the country's main export indicators, known for its aroma, flavor and variety (Gutiérrez, 2015), however, the production of this bean has become a Development engine for the province of Lengupa and the municipalities that comprise it, being one of the first areas to promote coffee crops in the department, however, it presents a great deficiency, this being the little generation of utility for its growers, and the high costs immersed in the process for the generation of results (Hernández, 2018); This research aims to design and test a logistics model for the first two nodes of the process (Harvest and transformation), a model that allows integrating the production capacity of the region, verifying its processes as well as key conditions in the process such as it is the weather. For the construction of the model, the characterization of its logistics will be executed, identifying the structure of the chain made up of suppliers, growers and producers, evaluating the processes that go from planting, treatment and subsequent delivery to collection centers, (supplies, capacities of suppliers, transport, storage capacity, cultivation and treatment methods, both organic and traditional coffee). Tools such as GAMS or SCOR will be used, as well as process costing methods and mathematical tools capable of analyzing the situation, this in order to design, evaluate and test the model, hoping to achieve improvements such as cost reduction and adequate leveling of its production process, in addition to being able to provide a guide and orientation tool for those interested in this sector.
